Disabling Windows Firewall

Windows XP users:

Step 1. Click the Start button.

Step 2. Click on Control Panel.

Step 3. Click on Windows Firewall.

Step 4. Once the Windows Firewall dialog box is open, select Off.

Vista users:

Step 1. Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button.

Step 2. Click Control Panel and then Security

Step 3.  Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

Step 4. Select Off.

Step 5. Click OK.

Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.



7 users:

Step 1. Click the Start button.

Step 2. Click Control Panel.

Step 3. Click System and Security.

Step 4. Click Windows Firewall.

Step 5. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

Step 6. Under the heading Home or Work (private) network location setting, Click Off the button next to Turn off Windows Firewall.

Step 7. Click OK.

Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
