Protected Programs

What are Protected Programs?

Protected Programs are Trusted Applications or plug-ins that are allowed to run within the SecureDesktop environment.

Based on the policy settings created by your system administrator you may see the following applications within the SecureDesktop environment:

  • Microsoft RDP
  • Citrix Receiver (3.4, 4.0, and 4.1 supported)
  • SafeBrowser
  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client
  • OpenVPN
  • Palo Alto Global Protect
  • VMWare View
  • Juniper Citrix
  • BankID Security Application

When these programs are executed in the normal Windows desktop the SafeCentral SafeDesktop will automatically launch the application in SecureDesktop to protect the application when used. The Protected Program must be installed in order for the application to run in the SecureDesktop environment or you will see a null icon that does not launch if the program is not installed before SafeCentral. Additionally, your administrator may populate a specific download URL to download the client application if the application is not installed.
