Gathering And Submitting Log Files for Macs

How do I create and gather log files?

When an undocumented issue occurs, log files are generally requested by Technical Support. Log files help reproduce the issue and find a way to resolve it.

Step 1. Make the library folder visible

  1. Navigate to the Finder application,  choose Go > Go to Folder.
  2. In the Go To Folder dialog, type /users
  3. Select the current user and choose View > Show View Options
  4. Check the box Show Library Folder and close the options window.

*Note: You may have to change the folder view to list mode for the option to appear.

Step 2. Gather the Telstra Broadband Protect.log file

  1. In the current user's folder, go to ~/library/Logs/Telstra Broadband Protect.
  2. Copy out the latest log file. (Example: Telstra Broadband Protect 2015-10-11 22-41.log)
